Punic Wars
There was three Punic Wars. The war was between Rome and Carthage. Rome had won all three Punic Wars. The reason that there is a Punic War is, because Rome and Carthage had conflicts of interests on expanding. At the end of the war both sides had lost hundreds and thousands of soldiers.
First punic war
The war was between Rome and Carthage. The war took place at Sicily. The Sicily is an island in the Mediterranean Sea. It was a Naval Battle. Rome was very weak with Naval battles, Rome was strong on land. Carthage was strong at Naval Battle, but not as strong as Rome on land. Rome had defeated Carthage at Naval battle. The reason Rome won is, because they found a Carthage ship. The Roman army copied the ship and used it in the war. The war lasted for 264 - 241 B.C.
Second Punic war
Hannibal was a Carthage general. He took 38,000 foot soldiers with him, 12,000 cavalry, and 37 elephants. Hannibal took his troops across Spain to attack the Romans. Hannibal took over many Roman troops, as there were going across Spain. Hannibal used his troops to surround the Romans troops. Rome and Carthage attack Spain , because they had gold and silver at the time. The Romans feared, so they sent their best general to attack Carthage. Romans defeated Carthage at North Africa which made Hannibal to go back to Carthage. Hannibal had to surrender Italy. The war lasted 218 - 201 B.C.
third punic war
Rome started the 3rd Punic War. The Romans landed on Northern Africa and attack when Carthage was still weak from the 2nd Punic War. The Romans attacked Carthage and defeated them in war. The Romans burned the city, then pour salt everywhere so that Carthage will not rise again. Romans then took the people in Carthage and sold them to be slaves. The war lasted from 149 - 146 B.C.
